Background
The British and European Standards for fuels including kerosene ensure a consistent and reliable quality but for obvious reasons there have to be tolerances. Vapourising burners (as found in Aga cookers) are exceptionally sensitive and variances in kerosene still within tollerance can cause appliances ‘carbon up’ – or to be more accurate carbon up more quickly than might be expected, since Aga themselves recommend servicing of their cookers at least every six months.
Exactly what happens?
The oil in the fuel feed pipe is effectively cooked by the burner (oxidises), so there is fall-out and build-up of carbon (gum formation) that eventually chokes the fuel supply. This problem has become more prevalent recently when the char value of some kerosene’s has been found to be towards the upper limit.
Solution
ICI Topanol is an anti-oxidant additive widely sold by ICI throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Sold primarily into the aviation markets both military and civil, it is used to maintain the essential quality of jet kerosene to within its manufacturer’s performance specification.
Key Features
- Formulated and blended specially for domestic oil fired boilers and cookers.
- Delay's oxidation process and maintains fuel too its original performance. Specification for optimum combustion thus improving fuel economy.
- Reduces carbon/gum formation helping to keep fuel feed pipes clear.
- Tanker Driver will add directly to customer's oil storage tank at time of delivery.
- Topanol Formula has been blended to incorporate a green dye to provide customer with proof of treatment.
- Customers able to buy larger amounts of fuel to obtain competitive prices without the worry of fuel degrading in tank.
- Available in 1 litre bottles each one being sufficient to treat 1000 litres of 28sec Domestic Burning Oil. The blend strength has been calculated such that 2 bottles are sufficient to treat 2300 litres and 1 bottle will not be too strong for 900 litres.
Pricing Structure
Retail price per bottle is £15.99 + VAT @ 15% equating to a kerosene dosage cost of less than 2 p.p.l per 1000 litres.
